Heather Chamness

Owner & Head Coach 

Meet our owner and Head Coach, Heather Chamness. Heather is married with two beautiful kids. She has a passion to share the love and light of Christ through fitness. Heather is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Director for Faith RXd Canton Chapter, and CrossFit Judge. 

​

Heather has an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Bachelor's of Science, and Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from SFASU. She works part-time as a Home Health pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist for KidsCare Therapy and part time at Grand Saline ISD.   Heather also provides personalized nutriton and supplements through IDLife at hchamness.idlife.com

As a busy mother of two, Heather can be found supporting her children at their various competitive sporting events. You might also find her serving at her church, FBC Edom. 

​

Heather desires to help people experience the comradery and transformation made by CrossFit. More than that, she has a passion to see a life-changing spiritual impact in people's lives. That's why she she loves CrossFit 2819 Mission - it gives so much more than a simple work out. 

​

Heather's vision and commitment is to assist in changing lives. In a time when the world seems dark and lonely, Heather works to provide a positive, encouraging environment where people can grow stronger physically and spiritually.

Jennifer Short

Coach 

Meet our Coach, Jennifer Short! Jenn is an Elementary P.E. teacher at Sulphur Springs ISD. She has a passion to teach kids how to live healthy and active lives, and she has taught for 22 years. For the past nine years she has also been a CrossFit Competitor. 

​

Jen's passion to teach kids flows into her coaching here at CrossFit 2819 Mission as she teaches our CrossFit Kids classes. During the summer, she also helps with kids camp allowing her to participate in all of the things she loves: Faith, Fitness, Fun, and Food. She also runs a strength and stability class for junior high and high school students. 

​

In her free time, you can find her at the gym or at home with her dogs. She also loves to spend time with her family and friends. 

​

Jen has her CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Masters, CrossFit Judge, and Eat to Perform certifications. 

Jennifer Short

Jacey White

Coach 

Meet our Coach Jacey White! Jacey brings an energetic, spunky, fun-filled energy to the gym. 

​

Jacey is a longtime fitness enthusiast and a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer. She is also a Performance Enhancement Specialist, CPR/AED certified, and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. 

​

Jacey has been married 7 years to her best friend and forever "swolemate," Steven White. Together, they have 4 wonderful children and two grandchildren. She is also a proud dog mom. 

​

Jacey is an overcomer and knows what it meant to persevere. For two years she had to wear braces on her legs due to her legs being curved. Now, she loves to show others that they are stronger than they think, and they can do hard things.

​

Jacey "Loves how CrossFit wants you to be good at everything, not just one specific thing. I want to build muscle and be fast and strong....and I want to do handstands too."

Kathryn Echols

Coach 

Meet Coach Kathryn Echols!

Kathryn is a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Childrens Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She is married to her best friend Chris and is a dog momma to her two loving pups Copper and Penny.

​

Kathryn has her Bachelors in Public Health and that has lead to her passion for living a healthy lifestyle and loves encouraging others to do so as well. She is certified in BLS/ACLS/PALS and is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.

​

Kathryn enjoys traveling with her husband and playing/singing bluegrass and gospel music with her husband and family.

​

Kathryn said she loves that CrossFit is for anyone at any age and skill level. "When you walk into CrossFit 2819, you are greeted as a friend and will be uplifted and encouraged throughout your workout. It's the best feeling ever."

Lauren Wacaser

Nutrition & Mobility Coach

Meet Nutrition & Mobility Coach, Lauren Wacaser! Having been an active member for over a year, we are so very blessed to now have her on our team.

 

Lauren is a dedicated Certified Nutritionist and Health Coach at CrossFit 2819 Mission. With a passion for helping others achieve their health and fitness goals, Lauren has acquired additional certifications in Sports Nutrition, CPR & AED, and as a Certified Personal Trainer. She is certified through ISSA and NASM.

 

She brings a holistic approach to her coaching, focusing on not just physical health but mental and emotional well-being as well. She leads community stretch sessions at the gym to help members improve their flexibility and mobility. Prior to her career in nutrition coaching, Lauren was a Yoga instructor with formal training through the Yoga Alliance.

 

Lauren is a busy mom of three boys who enjoys creating ready-made meals, blogging about healthy eating, and providing nutrition services with Navigating Nutrition. She loves spending quality time with her family, exploring state parks, delving into Bible study, and experimenting with new foods and recipes.
